How a bead mill works

Inside the grinding chamber.

A horizontal bead mill, section by section. Follow the material from inlet to outlet.

  1. 01

    Feed

Pre-dispersed slurry is pumped into the grinding chamber at the drive end, next to the mechanical seal.

  2. 02

    Grind

Agitator pins on the high-speed shaft set the grinding beads in motion. Impact and shear between the beads break agglomerates down towards the nanometre range.

  3. 03

    Separate

At the outlet end, the dynamic separator lets the finished slurry through and keeps the beads inside the chamber.

  4. 04

    Cool

Cooling water circulates through the double-wall jacket and carries away the heat generated by grinding, keeping the product temperature stable.

Applications

Materials determine the method.

Wet grinding and dispersion for six industrial material groups.

New Energy Batteries

LFP, LMFP, conductive agents, silicon-carbon anodes, coating materials, solid-state and sodium battery materials.

Chemical Coatings

Ultra-fine dispersion for water-based and oil-based industrial coatings, inks and colour pastes.

Advanced Ceramics

High-performance grinding for MLCC, structural and electronic ceramic slurries, and semiconductor polishing fluids.

Carbon Materials

Efficient processing of graphene, single-wall carbon nanotubes, and conductive carbon black.

Electronics & Semiconductors

Controlled grinding for 5G materials, electronic pastes, functional films and semiconductor processes.

Fine Chemicals

Precision particle engineering for flame retardants, polymer fillers, catalysts and inkjet inks.

Free sample testing

Test your material first. Then choose the mill.

Free lab testing on your material at our Dongguan and Hubei test bases, followed by process and layout design.
